Benno Bikes Fair Stand Container
Task
Stand design for Eurobico 2021 and other trade fairs
Solution
In order to realise a cost-effective and quick installation, the exhibiting company opted for a 20-foot open-side container. This was equipped with rack frames for the exhibition utensils. In order to transport the bicycles directly, the container has a transport device for the bicycles. The external roof covers an area of 48m2. The roof can also be omitted if required.

A structure made of steel profiles and aluminium cross beams was developed, which is driven by two eccentric wheels via V-belts by means of an electric motor with planetary gear, as well as a Siemens Logo control system, which is controlled in time and with interval sequences. The ability to easily dismantle the structure and ensure transportability was an important consideration. However, the installation can also be loaded onto a trailer as a complete unit. The appearance of the construction in a simple, metallic look was chosen to match the prototype of the bicycle in style.

At Kyburz AG, a manufacturer of electric vehicles based in Freienstein in Canton Zurich, the company became increasingly aware of this problem and started looking for solutions on an industrial basis. Company owner Martin Kyburz became aware of environmental engineer Olivier Groux, who, as part of his bachelor's thesis, developed a process that allows the recovery of up to 91 per cent of the metals contained in the cells of the batteries. He did this in collaboration with the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology (Empa) and the Zurich University of Applied Sciences.

The procedure in the recycling plant proceeds in several steps. First, the batteries are discharged to 2.5 volts and broken down into their individual components. Then the contents are treated with water to separate the aluminium and copper foils. Lithium salt is extracted from the electrolytes by a distillation process. The carbonates distilled out in this way can then be used again for batteries.

Rigolo Show Installation
-
Task
-
Show installations for the performance of the Rigolo project at various locations in Switzerland
-
Solution
-
The performance included various show blocks, which were technically supported. In one show block, a wet stage floor was created by using a bathtub. The stage floor was covered by a tarpaulin in advance. After the end of the show, the tarpaulin was pulled back from the stage by means of 2 motors and a frequency converter, so that the floor was dry for the continuation of the show. In another show block, an actor hovered as a kind of butterfly on a construction fixed in the roof. This construction also served as another show element as a "pendulum". The "pendulum" consisted of tens of ropes and pulleys to which balls were attached. The whole suspension was set in motion by means of BGV C1 certified motors and controls.

Made of aluminium and polycarbonat, the futuristic info-column of Welthaupt Switzerland now starts from different schools in St.Gallen to give
young people answers. It contains twelve retainers for flyers, two iPads for animation and videos, a hi-fi sound maschine and a countdown with
a display, a voice and smoke. The construction was the idea of Samuel Weishaupt, who built it for the Jugendinformation of the City of St.Gall.
